Introduction

December 6, 2009

This is the introduction.

In a longer document I will give you the name of Edward’s pet falcon. I could just link to the page, but here is the exact spot in the long document that really needs to be linked, however.

On the other hand, I could try a footnote[1] that would link to the full detail page. A second footnote could be added, too[2]. Or, just put [3] in the text and hope the reader looks at the bottom of the page.

Well, this is just an introduction, but I wanted to put enough filler to see if the footnotes linked in at least one direction:

[1] To learn the name of Edward’s falcon, try this page: http://fotoguzzi.wordpress.com/2009/12/06/complete-summary/ , or you could go to the exact spot in the page. You could also leave this blog and read about falcons.
[2] Worthless. Blah.
[3]. Just text. Hurr!

Complete summary

Here is is the long drawn out page with more detail than anyone would want. The introduction page might link here, to the beginning of the page or link to one of the a name anchors that I have stuck in the page.

Falcon Eddy was the name of Edward’s falcon. Here is where the link from the introduction page points. I conveniently named this spot of text, falcon and then on the introduction page I put #falcon at the end of the permalink path that I found at the top of this page: namely, http://fotoguzzi.wordpress.com/2009/12/06/complete-summary/#falcon

The name of Edward’s doggy was Blot. Here, I made an a name anchor called blot. I have not linked to it yet, but if I write another page from which I want to link to this exact spot, I would, again, on the referring page append #blot to the permalink that i find at the top of this page.
